To Martingale or not to Martingale

That is the question.

Most popular EAs appear to use Martingale strategy, which if not managed correctly can blow your account on big swing moves.

Has anyone had luck tuning a Martingale based EA to run smoothly?
 
I did try one (forgot the name of it) after couple of months of testing on demo.. put 2000 usd on live account as it performed well... on live in third week it blew up my account. So any martingale ea i would not recommend from my experience.
