Having the correct indicator starts off by back testing each and every indicator to see its full potential and I've done that numerous times and i might say that really helps.

Great advise, although backtesting results are for the past and doesn't necessarily reflect future performance. It does give good insights.

Don't rely on just one indicator, have always at least one.
