General Metatrader 4 Download problem

I've noticed that. mt4 cannot be downloaded alone without a broker on desktop or pc. why is that?

because in order to operate you must have an account with a broker and each of them relies on metatrader

yes, it is now recommended to use the mt5 platform so mt4 can only download at your broker webs

Is there a way to stop autoupdate on metatrader. Many indicators do not work on updates. Thanks.
